Balloons Over Letchworth on
We post many photos of launches, because they’re easier to capture, and of course Letchworth provides spectacular backdrops. But this stunning shot was taken one evening recently, after we’d landed, and gave the landowners’ courageous 4-year old grandson time to come see the balloon up close.
The landscapes of flying are spectacular, and those are easiest to highlight on social media; but in the end, it’s the human connection that makes what we do so incredibly special.

After the destructive storms earlier this week, we were treated to unbelievably beautiful sights during this morning’s flight.
These videos were captured from almost directly above the storm-impacted Parade Grounds; the first looking back behind us toward Upper and Middle Falls, the second looking ahead toward Lower Falls and our other balloon flying near them this morning.

A huge thank-you to everyone who joined us this August! Despite some iffy weather at times, we were able to tether our balloon three out of four scheduled days, giving approximately 200 people the chance to experience a tethered balloon ride. We also welcomed many more visitors to our launch area, collected dozens of coloring contest entries, and—most importantly—had a whole lot of fun! 💙
And now, for the business we still have outstanding… prizes! 🏆

There is no place in the world like @letchworthstatepark to fly passenger flights, and if you follow our socials, you know what that looks like; we have an absolute treasure of a location to fly! We also know that for all kinds of reasons, not everyone will be able to come to us for a ride. So with careful planning and early reservations, we can bring our balloons to schools, parties, and all kinds of special events; in the case of offseason school programs, we travel far and wide to share balloons and STEM-related education experiences with students. 🌞**Summer Sundays with Balloons Over Letchworth!***
🎈For the remaining Sundays in August, we will be at our launch site, Letchworth’s Upper Middle Falls, offering tethered rides when the wind and weather permit. (For those who don’t know, a tethered ride is a ride to the end of tether ropes, to about treetop height, then back down.)
💨Subject to weather conditions, we will offer rides from 6pm to 8pm each Sunday in August.
Rides will be $20/person; free to enter the park after 5, and free to watch!
🖍️We also will offer a coloring contest with prizes, balloon merch will be available, the food concessions stand will be open, and we may have some other balloon-related activities available.
🌲Balloons are for everyone. So come out to the park this summer and join us for Summer Sundays; we look forward to seeing you there!

You don’t have to book a ride to experience the magic. Watching a balloon launch is free and open to the public!
We fly passenger flights Monday through Saturday, May through October at the breathtaking Letchworth State Park. There is no charge to watch the launch! (Please note that the park charges a $10 vehicle entrance fee if you enter between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.)

📞 Anyone can call our recorded flight information line to check the launch status for the day, and everyone is welcome to come watch the balloons take flight!
